Wesley Thompson
I was born and raised in Mississippi. My father was a preacher and instilled a love for God's Word within me. I responded to the gospel and was baptized at Sardis Lake Christian Camp as a teen. I worked as a Benevolent Minister while attending Magnolia Bible College, organizing a program called 5 Loaves, which provided meals for elderly or disabled people of the community. While at MBC, I married my beautiful wife, Natasha, who is from South Africa. I graduated in 2003 with my Bachelor's degree in Bible and a minor in youth ministry. We have 2 children: Nadia and Jaden. In January of 2002, I was hired as the youth minister for this congregation. In 2011, I received my Master's degree in New Testament with a focus on family ministry from Johnson University. In 2023, I shifted focus and am currently the congregational minister. Our family is very blessed to serve this wonderful congregation. We believe ministry is our family's lifestyle and not just my personal profession.
My favorite Bible verse is 1 John 5:13: "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life." I want people to know that they can have confidence in their relationship with God and a firm hope of their eternal destination.
