Activities for our teens
Teen Devo - One Sunday a month from 6-8 pm we have a devotional at various homes. Supper is provided, and followed by an uplifting time of singing and a lesson from God's Word.
Connect - Once a month, usually on Thursday the teens gather at Justin's home for games and a time of prayer or singing.
Evangelism University - Held in January at Savannah, TN, this weekend trip focuses on teaching our youth how to share the gospel.
Smiling Acres Retreat - Our congregation partners with Johnson Grove and Lake Harbour churches to offer a Teen Retreat.
Vacation Bible School - Usually on the first week of June, our teens help to offer a great VBS program to the children of our congregation and community.
Heart of MS Workcamp - Usually in June at the Lake Harbour church of Christ. A week of focused service including: painting houses for the needy and other service projects for the community.
Sardis Lake Christian Camp - Our congregation organizes a session of SLCC that begins the Sunday after July 4. This is a great week long summer camp that is a highlight of the year.
Foreign Mission Trip - Each year usually towards the end of July, we offer a foreign mission trip to our youth and anyone in the congregation that would like to join. Often other congregations across the state of MS join us. We usually go to Honduras. These have been temporarily halted since the pandemic.
5th Quarter - Snacks and activities from 10pm - 12am after home SHS football games
SALT - Seeking A Lasting Truth is a weekend youth rally in early August at the Siwell Road church of Christ in Jackson, MS.
RUSH - Reaching Unlimited Spiritual Heights is a weekend youth rally in early September that introduces youth to Freed Hardeman University.
DISCOVER - Come join us each fall during one of MSU's home non-conference football game for a weekend youth rally that introduces youth to the University Christian Student Center at Mississippi State University and to our local body.
Christmas Party - Food, fellowship, games, and gifts abound at the fun December celebration.
New Year's Eve Celebration - Ring in the new year with our local body as we eat snacks, play games, and celebrate together.
